T.N.P.S. Investigates SUNY Geneseo Dormitory!

On March 13, 2010, T.N.P.S. investigated Monroe Hall on the SUNY Geneseo campus in Geneseo, NY. We initiated this investigation in an attempt to get to the bottom of stories that have been circulating about the dorm for many years. We are currently reviewing the evidence we gathered and continuing to research past reports of paranormal activity in Monroe. On April 16, 2010, we will be doing a seminar in paranormal investigation at SUNY Geneseo, culminating with the public reveal of our Monroe Hall investigation. This investigation was a superlative for us in quite a few ways! Many more details will be forthcoming about this amazing case!

More School Presentations

T.N.P.S. recently had two more opportunities to share some of their experiences in a classrooms.  One presentation was at another local school; the second was at a middle school in Amsterdam, NY.  At both schools, the team was invited to discuss current investigation techniques with the students and the students had a chance to review evidence the team has collected on various investigations.  All of the students were very interested and a pleasure to talk to. They showed a lot of enthusiasm for the subject!  Thanks for inviting us to your classroom!!

T.N.P.S. enjoys talking to students about their work as many adolescents have the impression that all paranormal events are frightening and potentially dangerous.  While the team does not encourage young people to experiment with what they do not understand, T.N.P.S. does not want them to be needlessly fearful of the subject either.

Seminar and Walking Tour in Lowville

T.N.P.S. worked with the Lowville Free Library to host an educational seminar and walking tour of downtown Lowville on October 16th and 17th, 2009.  Members of the T.N.P.S. team were on hand to provide information about the background of paranormal research (Did you know the first 'ghost hunters' were organized in England in 1882?), some of the leading figures in the field, and what happens on an investigation.  There was also a chance for participants to analyze data T.N.P.S. has collected on past investigations to see if they could separate a possible paranormal event from everyday occurrences.  The evening finished with a walking tour of some haunted locations in downtown Lowville and the opportunity to participate in a mini-investigation of  an active location that the team has investigated- the Library itself.  Both evenings were well attended and all proceeds went to benefit the library. We helped the library raise $1140! T.N.P.S. greatly enjoyed their time at the library and wants to thank everyone who attended the seminars and made the evenings such a success. Very soon we will be publishing the results of the mini-investigations on this website. We are currently in the process of reviewing the evidence. Check back again soon!

Lowville Free Library Investigation Results

T.N.P.S. investigated the Lowville Free Library on August 4th, 2009. Reports of activity included voices being heard, (including the librarian hearing her name called when no one else was in the library,) books being turned around or pushed off shelves, and motion-activated hand dryers in the bathrooms coming on by themselves. During our investigation, we had several odd personal experiences. Something kicked a chair when no investigator was within ten feet of it. One investigator was touched on the shoulder. Three people all heard a disembodied voice whisper, "hey." We took over 1100 pictures and analyzed approximately 12 hours of recordings. Quite a few EVPs, or electronic voice phenomena, were obtained. Many of these EVPs were coherent answers to questions. Judging from the EVPs, it is the conclusion of T.N.P.S. that there is at least one male and one female entity in the library. The fact that we often got coherent answers to our questions leads us to the conclusion that at least one of the entities is an "intelligent" haunt, rather than a "residual" one. It is possible that at least one of these spirits has its origin in the house that once stood on the spot where the library is currently located. We appreciate the Library's willingness to allow an investigation and the publication of our results.

New York Pizzeria---> It is NOT haunted

Earlier this summer T.N.P.S. was given permission to investigate the third floor of the building that is home to the New York Pizzeria.  After reviewing 900+ photographs, 9 hours of recordings, and 1 & 1/2 hours of video footage, as well as referencing EMF and temperature readings, no evidence of paranormal activity was found.  One room, which may have been the room mentioned in the faulty internet reports, did have elevated EMF readings.  These readings were caused by a fuse box and associated wiring.  These elevated readings may have been the source of the 'weird' feelings some people reported.  Studies have shown that prolonged exposure to high EMF can cause feelings of apprehension, nervouseness, nausea and, in severe instances, hallucinations.  The owner of the business and building has granted permission to T.N.P.S. to both post and discuss this case in an effort to stop the rumors that have been circulated about the location.
